The MV Cape Don Society Inc. is a non-profit incorporated organisation which was founded to carry out the refurbishment and conservation of the historic Lighthouse Tender MV Cape Don as a part of the maritime history of Australia, in accordance with maritime heritage guidelines. When restoration has been completed, the Society will maintain the MV Cape Don, operate the vessel for fund-raising purposes, for research, community assistance expeditions, for the benefit of all Society members, and the broader community. The work of the Society is being overseen by the Sea Heritage Foundation, a charitable Trust established for the specific purpose of holding the vessel, the MV Cape Don, in trust and raise money for the project. The project has been aided significantly by generous donations of material and equipment by a large number of businesses. In addition, our members and volunteers have dug deep into their own pockets to keep the project going. This realistically cannot continue and we need you to help us by making a donation to the Sea Heritage Foundation and really make a move on the project. Your donation will be used to purchase materials, repair tools and equipment, and to restore and paint areas of the hull and superstructure in an effort to bring her back, as far as possible, to her original 1960's condition. Donations over $2 to the Sea Heritage Foundation are tax deductible. You can make a donation either by sending a cheque or contacting the Foundation (address details below) for the details of the Foundation's bank account. Or, to make it very simple, you can click here: and make an donation online. We also need volunteers and helpers by the dozen - so if you can spare the time if only for a few hours, we'd love to have you as members! Membership is only $20.00 and goes to the MV Cape Don project directly. We hope you can help us with this exciting and wonderful project. See you onboard.
